I grew up surrounded by images of Peru thanks to my father, a scuba diver who worked on the construction of the port of Lima. This early exposure undoubtedly awakened in me a taste for travel. Numerous trips around the world eventually led me to Peru, where I experienced some unforgettable moments.
Meeting Ricardo, Surfing Legend
In Lima, I was lucky enough to meet Ricardo, a true icon of local surfing. We quickly became friends, and together with his wife Monica, we decided to go on a surf trip in the south of the country. These moments shared on the waves were not only exhilarating but also enriching, allowing me to discover a new facet of the local culture.
The Magic Loop: Arequipa, Lake Titicaca and Cuzco
After our surfing adventure, I continued my journey on the famous tourist loop including Arequipa, Lake Titicaca and Cuzco. Each region offered breathtaking scenery and unique experiences. In Arequipa, the majestic volcanoes and colonial architecture impressed me. Lake Titicaca, meanwhile, was a serene spectacle, with its sparkling blue waters and picturesque islands.
The Altiplano and the feeling of absolute freedom
But what really stood out for me was the sense of freedom I felt in the vast expanses of desert and at an altitude of 5,000 metres on the Altiplano. It's hard to describe the feeling of introspection and inner peace that such heights bring. This trip reminded me of the importance of connecting with nature and finding time for oneself, away from everyday worries.
In conclusion, my trip to Peru was more than just a tourist adventure; it was a true discovery of myself, nourished by warm encounters and breathtaking landscapes. I'm deeply grateful for every moment spent in this magnificent country.
