Hello ! My name is Damien
& I love traveling
As a child, I always dreamed of travelling the world. I spent my time reading adventure novels and imagining the places I would one day discover.
After graduating from university, I decided to turn that dream into reality. For five years, I travelled extensively throughout Asia and Latin America. In Costa Rica, I took my first professional steps in tourism, working as an incoming agent for a travel agency. It was there that I discovered how much I enjoyed helping others experience a destination — and where my passion for guiding was born.
Back in Europe, I chose to settle in Biarritz, in the French Basque Country, where I had the opportunity to join the team at the Hôtel du Palais, a prestigious five-star palace. For 14 years, I was responsible for welcoming and looking after international guests, anticipating their needs and helping make their stay truly memorable.
This experience taught me far more than hospitality. It taught me the importance of attention to detail, discretion, adaptability and, above all, understanding what makes a great travel experience.
Today, I am a professional guide specialized in the Basque Country, a licensed private chauffeur (VTC), and the founder of Euskal Motivo, where I help travelers discover the cultural, gastronomic and natural richness of the region I now call home.
I am fluent in French, English and Spanish, and after many years working with international travelers, I have developed a particular understanding of what makes people feel welcome and comfortable when they are far from home.
And the journey continues.
During the winter, when the Basque Country enters its quieter season, I return to my other great passion: travelling. I work as a Tour Leader and travel companion, accompanying groups to destinations around the world that I have had the opportunity to discover myself.
Because for me, travelling and guiding have always been connected: I love discovering new places, and I love helping others experience them.
